About Me
Welcome to my site! My name is Jill Even. I am an Iowa State University graduate who majored in journalism and mass communication with minors in Spanish and technical communication.

I have been fortunate the past few years to to pursue writing, editing and communication through my various roles.
​
I am currently working for The ABIS Group, for which I research, write, edit, and proof headlines and abstracts for a collection of highly technical online health care newsletters spanning 15 industry topics of up to 61 stories per day under tight deadlines. The subject area includes breaking health care news, clinical trials and research, earnings, drug development and drug approval process stories. I also spearhead projects related to SEO and backend webpage management.
I also manage my own freelancing account for copywriting, editing and proofreading on Upwork. So far, I've worked for an entertainment publication, a SaaS company, and a publishing company, for which I have edited blog posts and articles, as well as two young adult fantasy novels.

I studied abroad in Urbino, Italy, last spring where I refined film, digital and mobile photography skills in a unique setting under the tutelage of Pulitzer Prize winning photojournalist. I also immersed in Italian language and culture studies including literature, art history, and history of the renaissance.

From January 2021-2022, I was a marketing intern at Workiva, for which I culminated my writing and technical editing skills for various types of content, including blog posts, e-books, white papers, and more.
​
I was also a writer and web assistant for Iowa State’s College of Human Sciences, an editorial team member for Iowa State’s TREND magazine, and a College of Engineering beat reporter, copy editor, and news editor of academics for the Iowa State Daily.
The pleasure of creating and refining writing is what keeps me inspired to not only pursue my professional goals, but to also provide an outlet for my curiosity.
